This time of year we see a lot of bird nests in the coastal bays, but until now few have been covered in chocolate.
The Maryland Coastal Bays Program has recently partnered with Wockenfuss Candies to bring you a delicious summer treat. These “milk chocolate osprey nests” are patties of crispy pretzel pieces, covered in delicious Wockenfuss milk chocolate and topped with a sugary sweet malted milk egg. They look just like their namesake, the iconic osprey nests that occupy exposed poles and markers across our bays. And like those nests, these treats provide a special service to the Coastal Bays. Part of the proceeds of every sale goes to support the work of the Maryland Coastal Bays Program. Whether it’s planting rain gardens, restoring waterways, safeguarding our seasonal seals or caring for threatened bird species, our work is going to be just a little sweeter this year.
Milk chocolate osprey nests sell for $4 each and can be found at any of the Wockenfuss Candies locations in Ocean City:
- 1st Street and the Boardwalk
- 7th Street and the Boardwalk
- The White Marlin Mall in West Ocean City
